Pedro Garcia de Matos' interview: investing in agriculture and in Angola

“The portuguese group Euroeste operates in agrobusiness for 30 years and is present in Angola for 8 to generate employment and reduce imports through integrated projects". This is how Pedro Garcia de Matos' interview for the Angolan newspaper Mercado begins, together with the description of the group and its worldwide experience and in particular, the operations in Angola.
The interview highlights several essential points, such as the country's potencial and the existent synergies between the will of the Angolan and the know-how from Euroeste's specialized human resources, responsible for the study, implementation and management of agro-industrial projects.
Despite some challenges in the implementation of the projects in Angola at logistic, training and legislation levels, from this synergies result projects which contribute to the economy diversificaton, "reduction of the oil dependence, promotion of the entire local economy, and decentralization of economic activities outside the major centers."
Finnally, the interview focus on the project of Santo António's farm: its current situation and production predictions, the investment and future commercialization of corn meal under the brand TARI through local resellers.
